How DriveDecode works

What OBD-II actually covers

Generic OBD-II gives every scanner access to engine and emissions systems. It does not cover ABS, airbags, TPMS or transmission-specific manufacturer codes — those need make-specific decoding. Any adapter at this price promising to read every system in your car is overselling it.

Why bother with the app

Plain language first

"P0301" tells you nothing. "Cylinder 1 is misfiring" tells you where to look. Every code carries its plain-English label everywhere it appears.
